About RC Vision

Built around what young people can become.

RC Vision uses the excitement of radio control motorsport to open up STEM for young people who may not otherwise see a place for themselves in it.

We create practical, inclusive experiences that build confidence, reveal strengths and make future pathways feel possible.

Our purpose

Creating meaningful ways into STEM.

Too many young people are still excluded from the confidence, networks and opportunities that make STEM feel achievable.

RC Vision is here to change that. We use radio control motorsport as a compelling starting point for hands-on learning, teamwork and problem-solving - connecting young people with the skills, people and careers that can shape their futures.

Why RC racing

Joy opens the door. Challenge does the work.

When young people care about the outcome, they are more willing to persist through the learning it takes to get there.

Building and racing an RC car makes engineering tangible. It gives every participant a reason to test ideas, learn from setbacks and celebrate progress together.

What defines us

How we create change that lasts.

Our programmes are designed around the conditions that help young people thrive - not just take part.
01

Belonging first

Everyone should feel that STEM is a place where they can belong.

02

Learning by doing

Hands-on challenge makes knowledge useful, memorable and shared.

03

High expectations

We set the bar high and provide the support to reach it.

04

Real-world connection

Young people meet the people, places and possibilities behind STEM careers.

05

Inclusive by design

We actively welcome those underserved or excluded - not as an afterthought, but from the start.

06

Evidence-led

We listen, measure and improve so that our work has lasting value.

THE FOUNDER

Hi, I’m Andy Hyde.

Founder of RC Vision — using radio control motorsport to help tackle inequity in STEM.

I started RC Vision because I saw too many young people being quietly sidelined from STEM — not because they lacked ability, but because traditional approaches did not speak to them.

My background spans engineering, motorsport, technology and youth development. I have worked in environments where practical problem-solving, teamwork and resilience matter every day.

Through RC Vision, we bring that world into schools: hands-on engineering workshops that build confidence, reveal strengths and connect learning to real careers.

Everything we do is designed to be inclusive, engaging and meaningful — especially for young people who do not always see themselves in STEM.

  • Enhanced DBS-checked and highly experienced in working with young people.
  • Background in engineering, motorsport and youth development.
  • Regular speaker at STEM careers events and national education shows.
  • Delivered STEM programmes with partners including Great Western Railway, BMW Group and the University of Oxford Sustainable Development Goals Impact Lab.
