Youth Champion Isabella Mascarenhas Joins RC Vision Team

Education & Communities Lead at Electrocomponents PLC Brings Global Perspective to Advisory Team

London, England - Jan. 14, 2022. RC Vision today announces the continued expansion of its advisory team with the appointment of Isabella Mascarenhas. A renowned leader in grassroots education and community engagement, Mascarenhas brings 10 years of experience at the frontline of efforts to diversify the talent pipeline for the engineering & technology sector.

Isabella is the Vice President for Grass Roots Education at Electrocomponents PLC, a FTSE100 company distributing industrial and electronic products around the world. Valued at £5.5bn, the company works with over 2,500 suppliers and provides over 650,000 items through trading brands like RS Components.

On her appointment, Mascarenhas commented “I’m lucky to work in a role that champions children and young people to help them shine and open up a wider world of possibilities for them through science, technology and engineering. There is serious work to do to counter the effects of historic and systemic discrimination. Improving equity for minoritised people is a priority - and through imaginative engaging ventures like RC Vision and collaboration across the industry, we can do it.

I’m delighted to join Andy and the team and look forward to everything we can achieve together.”

RC Vision will generate opportunities for young people in minoritised communities to develop 'engineering habits of mind' with the aim of raising STEM career aspirations.

“Increasing representation in the STEM sector is not only the right thing to do, but it is also vital to the UK economy and, frankly, we will struggle to overcome the environmental and technological challenges we are facing without it,” said RC Vision founder Andy Hyde.

“Isabella’s brilliance, energy and experience will help us accelerate and sustain progress towards a more diverse, inclusive and optimistic future. And have a lot of fun along the way.”
