Social Mobility Charity CEO Joins RC Vision

Founder And Ceo Of The Diversity, Racial Inclusion And Social Mobility Charity, Reach Out 2 Kids, Strengthens Advisory Team

London, England - Nov. 22, 2021. RC Vision today announces the expansion of its advisory team with the appointment of Denise Stephenson. A former planning lawyer and London law firm partner, Stephenson tackles career aspiration, advice, and guidance inequity through her London-based charity, Reach Out 2 Kids. She has seen firsthand key areas where racial prejudice and injustice thrive in the UK: the criminal justice system, health, education, and employment.

"Although COVID-19 has shone a spotlight on the inequities faced by minoritised young people, nobody understands the disproportionate impact of pre-pandemic economic austerity on already disadvantaged people better than Denise", commented RC Vision founder Andy Hyde. "Denise brings hugely important front line experience of working with schools and young people, but it's her values, expertise and professionalism, coupled with her commitment to the cause that is truly inspirational. I'm delighted she has joined the team."

RC Vision will generate opportunities for young people in minoritised communities to develop 'engineering habits of mind', raise STEM career aspirations, and increase representation in this vital sector of the UK economy.

Denise Stephenson commented:

"Ensuring that every individual has an equal opportunity to make the most of their lives and talents is our shared aspiration. However, we cannot deliver equality of opportunity without the work of ventures like RC Vision. Recognising that peoples’ circumstances are different and providing people with what they need, proportionate to their circumstances, to have the same opportunities enjoyed by others is precisely what RC Vision is working to achieve.

"Bringing opportunities to the underrepresented and underprivileged in this way will make a genuine difference. It is something that I am truly passionate about. I am more than happy to contribute to this new and innovative social venture in this meaningful way, by sharing insights from my lived experience and expertise through my work in law and heading up my charity ROK (Reach Out 2 Kids). I feel honoured and excited to be part of the team."

RC Vision is negotiating with two potential locations for facilities alongside ongoing talks with investors and grant funders. The social venture aims to launch early next year and be fully operational during 2022.
